TENSES

1.    Simple Present Tense

¡ An action that occurs on regular basis

¡ Fact that stands true all time

          Structure: S+V1+O

 Ex: I watch videos

       I play football regularly

       Sun rises in the east

       NOTE: In case of 3rd person singular form Vs/es form

              Ex: Balu plays football regularly

2.    Simple Past Tense

·       An action that is completed before now

  Structure: S + V2 +O

 Ex: I played cricket yesterday

        I played football yesterday

        I watched videos

3.    Simple Future Tense

 ¡  An action which will happen in future

            Structure: S+will+V1+O

  Ex: I will play football tomorrow

        I will watch videos

 4.    Present Continous Tense

 ¡  An action which is currently going on

            Structure: S + am/is/ are+ V+ ing +O

  Ex:  I am playing football right now.

         I am watching videos.

5.    Past Continues Tense

¡  An action which began in the past and was still going
on until some other action occurred

         Structure: S + was/were +V + ing +O

 Ex: I was playing

       football when you arrived.

       I was watching videos.

 6.    Future Continous Tense

 ¡  An action which will began in the future and will

still go on until some other action occurs

                   Structure: S+ will be /shall be+ V + ing +O

  Ex: I will be playing football when you arrive

         I shall be watching videos

 7.    Present Perfect Tense

 ¡  action began in the past and true in the present.

¡   action that happened in the past but time is not specified.

                  Structure : S + have/has+V3        

Ex:  I have played football alot this week

       I have watched videos

       I have finished my home work

 8.    Past Perfect Tense

 ¡  Action that completed before any other action in the past

                   Structure: S+ had+ V3 +O

 Ex: I had played football before you came

 9.  Future Perfect Tense

 ¡  Action that will happen before another event in the future

                Structure: S + will have + V3 + O

  Ex: I will have played football by the time you arrive

 10.   Present Perfect Continous Tense

 §  Action that started in the past and are still going on the present

§  More importance is given to the duration of event

                Structure: S + have been + Ving + O

  Ex: I have been playing football since 3 years

         I have been watching videos

11.        Past Perfect  Continous Tense

 §  An action which began in the past at a certain time

and still going on until some other action occurred

§  More importance on time the event  started

                           Structure: S + had been + Ving + O

                  Ex: I had been playing football for 1 hour before you arrived.

                        I had been watching videos since morning.

 12.        Future Perfect  Continous Tense

 §  An action which will began and still going until a

point in future

§  More importance to the duration of event

           StructureS + will have been + Ving + O

  Ex: I will have been playing football for 10 years
